Henry G. Stephenson, PhD
Postdoctoral Researcher
Henry joined the Penn FTD Center in August 2026 as a postdoctoral researcher under the mentorship of Dr. Jeffrey Phillips. He completed his PhD in neuroscience at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was advised by Dr. Barbara Bendlin. His doctoral research focused on staging neurodegenerative change in preclinical Alzheimer’s disease with an additional interest in the modulatory role of microglial activation. In his postdoctoral work, he is exploring the networked spread of tau pathology in typical and atypical Alzheimer’s disease to better understand heterogeneity in the rates of amnestic vs. non-amnestic cognitive decline.
