Klara Gawor, PhD

Klara joined the Penn Neuropathology Lab as a postdoctoral researcher in September 2025, where she is co-mentored by Dr. David Irwin and Dr. Daniel Ohm. She earned her PhD from the University of Leuven under the supervision of Dr. Dietmar Thal, focusing on co-pathologies in Alzheimer’s disease. In her postdoctoral work, Klara continues to investigate mixed brain pathologies and aims to characterize the complex spatiotemporal dynamics underlying neurodegenerative disease progression. Her research goal is to define biologically meaningful patient subgroups that may benefit from personalized therapeutic strategies.
