Get to know the Penn FTD Center staff! Learn more this month from Penn FTD Center Allison Snyder, MD in the responses below!

What is your role at the Penn FTD Center and how long have you been working at the center?

I am a behavioral neurologist and researcher in the Penn FTD Center. I joined in September 2024. I see clinic patients, clinical research participants, and study the biology of TDP-C in my lab.

How do you hope to use this work in future opportunities?

The Penn FTD Center is an incredibly rich clinical and research environment. I believe that advancing our understanding of disease biology will lead to improved diagnosis and treatment of frontotemporal dementias, and that my work as a clinician strengthens and informs my work as a scientist.

What is your favorite thing to do in Philly?

I’m not sure I’ll ever be a sports fan, but I do love a good soft pretzel. We are also happy to be close to Hope’s Cookies again, where my (now) husband and I had our first date.
