What is your role at the Penn FTD Center and how long have you been working at the center?
I first joined the Penn FTD Center as a histopathology research specialist in the lab. After transitioning into a clinical research coordinator role, I became a team lead for our Core UNICORN, DLB Consortia, and PET studies. Now, as a research project manager that’s been with the center for over 5 years, my focus primarily lies in coordinating observational research operations to support both our participants and research team throughout their time with us.Â
Â
What has this role taught you?
I’m continually inspired by the research community – both in those who so kindly take part in the studies themselves, and the dedicated family and staff who support them every day. It is so impactful to witness firsthand the courage and commitment it takes to fuel progress in this field.
Being part of this environment has shaped me in very meaningful ways. It’s taught me what compassion-led care truly looks like and how important it is to approach the unknown with curiosity, patience, and humility. It’s a powerful reminder of why this work matters and why I feel so deeply connected to it.

What is your favorite thing to do in Philly?
In the summertime, you’ll find me playing grass volleyball at FDR park or wandering through the endless circuit of pop-up markets around the city. The food scene in Philly is also very underrated - Kalaya, Her Place Supper Club, and Sakana Omakase are all fantastic experiences. More lowkey hidden gems that are more of my day-to-day spots include ShiMiaoDao in Chinatown, Amma’s South Indian Cuisine in Center City, Taqueria La Prima in the Italian Market, ERA in Fairmount, Café Nhan in South Philly, Murph’s Bar in Fishtown… the list goes on and on!
