Get to know the Penn FTD Center staff! Learn more this month from Penn FTD Center Gillian Bradley, MSN, CRNP in the responses below!

What is your role at the Penn FTD Center and how long have you been working at the center?

I am a nurse practitioner with the Penn FTD Center. This position allows me the unique privilege of providing clinical care and support to patients with FTD and their families, while simultaneously participating in the cutting-edge research and clinical trials offered by the center. I've been in this current role since the beginning of 2025, but I first joined the FTD Center in 2018! I initially worked as a clinical research coordinator but then returned as a clinical research nurse prior to my current position.

What inspiration/joy do you find within the role?

The greatest joy in my position comes from helping patients and families navigate the complexities of frontotemporal dementia and related cognitive disorders. These conditions can be immensely challenging, but it is truly an honor to play a small role in helping individuals maintain as much dignity and independence possible, while supporting their families and friends through this journey. I am constantly inspired by the steadfast strength, creativity and selflessness I see evidence of daily.

What is your favorite thing to do in Philly?

I might be biased, but Philly really is the best city! FDR Park hosts amazing (and free!) outdoor concerts every other week in the summer- I love packing a picnic blanket, grabbing dinner to-go from Triangle Tavern or Cantina Los Caballitos and finding a spot to sit by the lake with my dog while listening to incredible local jazz musicians.
