Staff Highlight - Lauren Bracken

Get to know the Penn FTD Center staff! Learn more this month from Penn FTD Center Clinical Research Coordinator Lauren Bracken in the responses below!

What is your role at the Penn FTD Center and how long have you been working at the center?

I have been a research coordinator at the FTDC since August of 2023. I have been working on the UNICORN study, an observational research study, and the bvFTD empathy and apathy ancillary studies.

How do you hope to use this work in future opportunities?

My time at the FTDC has been such an important period of growth and learning for me. I have gained so much knowledge on neurodegenerative diseases and the   impact it has on both patients and their families and loved ones. Although I am still finalizing which medical school I will be attending this summer, I am excited to bring what I have learned with me in my future medical career. I will miss working with all the wonderful people here and look forward to watching the center continue to grow.

What is your favorite thing to do in Philly?

I love going on walks and trying different coffee shops around Philadelphia. Some of my favorite spots are Mr. Rabbit and The Bakeshop on 20th. I also love attending Eagles, Phillies, or Union games!
